After a long and tiring weekend, we unloaded and left things where they landed. Our mistake was very clearly pointed out to us by a certain mischievous brown dog.

A tote bag used for extra storage in addition to the diaper bag was left on the floor in the nursery. Without a zipper or latch of sorts, it was just an invitation for trouble.

Like a squirrel trying to bury food for the winter, Lukey scoured through the goods for that perfect item. First reaching a stack of diapers (clean thank goodness), he scattered them about the house as if practicing to become the damn Easter Bunny.

Next he finds a burp cloth and bib. These to get moved into another room because clearly we did not intend to leave them there, thanks for the help dog. Last but not least was the entire container of cereal that was devoured. The lid landing beneath the dining room table as if it were frisbee’d into place by someone with a message to deliver.

I can only expect that our next shenanigans will be more sever as it seems the point made was not understood. The math just doesn’t seem to be there, work plus time for Nat just doesn’t leave very much for Luke and Lily. Within the next few months, they will be less concerned about our lack of time and more excited about Nats abundance of it!

Fry Me to the Moon

Well tonight we tried our first solid food. Daddy’s favorite restaurant provided the first opportunity to try french fries, actually it was a steak fry! Hilarity ensued… If you haven’t watched the video you have to see for yourself.

On a day where we experienced he first real rolling over, she also got tatered. She is cutting teeth and doing a ton of other things, last night she managed to get an entire handful of Lukeys fur. Instead of pulling, it was more like she was simply holding on to him.

When I get the opportunity I need to hook into a computer and upload a really cute video from the other night where she told mommy the best joke evar.

Probably one of the cutest pictures to date. The picture was taken on our way to the botanical gardens. It was so bright she had to wear shades which simply turned into sleep.

Sorry it has been so long between posts but we are busy people now that mommy has gone back to work. I will try to be more diligent about posting, but on the up side, I have a ton of media to post tonight.

I will keep this on short and sweet since I have more.

Well tonight was Nats first introduction to UMB. Along with her cousin, they had a very busy day. Although most of the day felt like we were running a hyena exhibit at a zoological park, the day went well.

The picture was just before Jakey had to take off. They were sharing a nap in the play pen.

No Lukey, Bad Dog!

After momma picked up lil bit from the pack n play lukey decided to jump from the back of the couch right into it. What a joker.

Not realizing he had done anything wrong, he then found himself trapped for ~10 minutes. This was punishment for his actions. Dumbfounded, I am pretty sure it won’t be the last time we experience this.

I wish he would at least change her diaper while he is in there. Can’t get that damn dog to do anything around the house.

Change Is The Name

Well change is the name of the game around here lately. Trying to get stuff together to redo the living / dining rooms. Hobbies have become harder to do, even harder than most other tasks.

Sleep is getting less and less as we try to cram in some ‘us’ time after lil bit goes to bed. Things are great overall, just different than they were at the same time last year.

We have gotten NRG out into the yard for the last three weeks in a row. It is nice to wheel out the stroller and do a bit of yard work. She gets some sun and we get some things accomplished.

Mommy starts back to work tomorrow, I know she is dreading it, but the social interaction of other adults is necessary for her mental health. I just don’t have any idea how it could have possibly been 12 weeks already.

We have managed to cleanup more of the house and get some more things together to donate to the Childrens Home Society. This is a large task, but something that helps to keep our clutter down. I am donating nearly an entire closet full of clothes. Things that don’t fit, I no longer care for, or haven’t worn in a year are gone.

I have a new goal, which is to get myself back into shape and lose about 50lbs by my birthday next year. Very possible, it will just require lots of work. This is a lot to cram into one update, and many of my thoughts are scattered, but I will try to carve out some more time to post more frequently.

That’s all for now, I need to hold the tiny now!

It has been extremely hectic around here lately. The weather has been great!

Easter was awesome, we have been experiencing smiley happy baby all the time. Couldn’t resist posting this pic to demonstrate how great Easter was.

Nat is taking a liquid form of pepcid for babies to reduce her stomach acid and it really helps. Things are progressing in the basement once again and I think I am joining the gym again in may. Can’t wait to start taking off the fatness.

Castaway

Well after three hours it was complete. We managed to get a good casting of her foot for the statuette. Mold making was simple. Foot in, then just before the clock ran out, her big toe wiggled. I should have dunked both feet… What was I thinking.

Did some touchup tonight will paint ASAP. Next we will do her hand, which means we will either get the fist or the finger. Either one will do for me. All for now, feeding time at the lions den.

In The Moments Before

Well this video was taken last night. Really loving her first set of keys. NRG has been gripping and swinging things wildly for the past few days.

This was all in the moments before her doctors visit today. Today lil bit got her first taste of immunization. Going into the doctor we knew what we were protecting her against, the doses came in two forms, One drink, and three shots. One shot in her left leg, and two shots in her right.

After applying two Mickey Mouse bandaids, the nurse left us to console our wounded princess. Crying only lasted for about two minutes (if that), then the sleep set in.

After a night where Tiny slept for nine hours we wouldn’t anticipate her sleeping for another three or four through the early afternoon. Everyone thought she would be fussy after getting her shots, but it seems they were all wrong, she is going to sleep it off.

Tidal Wave!

Like a fire hydrant knocked out of place, NRG made the messiest diaper ever tonight. Her mess was like a caged beast, clawing at any opening until finally bursting free out of every possible opening.

Mommy and I nearly had to break out the pressure washer to cleanup the devastation left behind. It was amazing… amazing in that special way that a train wreck is special. I dared to carry a sandwich in as an innocent passerby when I noticed that my wife may have needed a hand.

I nearly passed out. I thought for sure I would drop right there and awake to my wife fanning me and Luke eating my sandwich. Sometimes it is crazy having a baby.
